Carrying a Concealed Weapon

Code of Virginia § 18.2-308 makes it a criminal offense to carry a concealed weapon.  Virginia’s concealed weapon law is very voluminous and complex and often misunderstood by law enforcement officers.  Further, the law only applies to certain enumerated objects and there are numerous exceptions and exclusions that are often overlooked, resulting in erroneous pleas.

As with any criminal statute that involves the possession of illegal contraband the crux of the matter is the means law enforcement search or seized the person or place where the weapon was located or any incriminating statements made by persons regarding the weapon.  There are legal defenses to any weapons case, contact me immediate if a friend or family member has been arrested or charged for a marijuana distribution offense.
